The Art of Cynthia Reid

Cynthia Reid of CynART on etsy is both an artist and educator. A prolific painter, she also teaches drawing at Lone Star College, and watercolor at Sam Houston University, both in Texas where she makes her home.

She has her MFA in painting, and admits her bias toward watercolor...

Nature features large in her work...

...but her series of architectural paintings is what first caught my eye.

Cynthia shows her facility with colored pencil in this original drawing...

From realism...

to semi abstract...

to pattern play...

to whimsey, Cynthia does it all! And most of what you'll find in her shop is original artwork.

If you've been waiting to find that perfect piece, the one that speaks to you, you just might find it at CynART. Take a look!

Nature

Outside in nature - oozing with wonderment, leaves, pebbles, animals great and small.

Friends with nature, your favourite new feathered companion whistling happily in an unique green home.

Swimming with nature, shells, fish of beautiful colors, seaweed and dolphins.

It is a wonderful, gorgeous world just ready to explore.   Where will you start?

A Bit Sheepish

Nicollete the white felt sheep is a friendly kind of girl
As is lamby lamp with his tiny feathery companion.
As for this guy a paddock full of greeny grass goodness would make any sheep smile
Us humans must thank them for literally giving the wool off their backs to make a gorgeous woollen scarf to keep us warm
Or too color their beautiful wool to shop in style with this beige and rust woollen bag.
We salute you our sheepish friends - you are truly wonderful creatures xxx

Butterflies

delicate little creatures that mother nature has created to make this world more beautiful

Butterfly, Birds and Flower Purse

Gently flapping it's thin wings,

A butterfly lands upon my fingers,
And upon a soft breeze it leaves,
Yet it's delicate presence lingers.
